Allocator overview

Allocator is a browser-based tool for planning and reviewing workers’ tasks, comparing workdays and workload across Locations, and reacting to changes such as sick leave — all from one calendar.

Use Allocator to:

  • plan and review workers’ tasks
  • compare workers’ days and workload by Location and by day
  • visualize the day’s routes and visits on a map
  • react to changes, such as sick leave
  • maintain background data (devices, vehicles, capacity, consumption, working times)

From the user’s point of view, the core features of Allocator are:

  • Calendar: Contains the scheduling and management of work.
  • Map: Shows the locations of scheduled tasks and workers’ routes.
  • Day view: Workday tracking designed for workers.
  • Task list: All of the organization’s tasks in one place.
  • Statistics: KPI metrics and their summaries.

The following optional features are also available:

  • Device management: Manage your device fleet or contracts, their basic information, and how they generate tasks.
  • Smart Booking: A booking system that suggests to the end customer only times that are optimal for the company, based on the customer’s location and needs. When the user picks a suggested time, it is also brought into the Allocator calendar.

Terminology may differ. Terminology in the user interface may differ from the terms used in this manual if it has been changed in your organization’s settings.

The algorithm trusts your data. Scheduling optimizes based on the data it has been given. In case of problems, verify that the data — addresses, working times, durations — is correct before anything else. See Scheduling best practices.
