Absences
When a worker is away, register an absence so Allocator stops scheduling work for them and returns the affected tasks to the task list to be re-planned.
One-day absence
Section titled “One-day absence”Hover the mouse over the day’s working time in the calendar and use the plus icon to add an Absence (one day).
If the absence is set for the whole day, Allocator returns all of the day’s tasks back to the task list and no longer schedules tasks for that day. If specific times are defined for the absence, Allocator only returns the tasks within that time range.

Section titled “Long-term absence”For a long-term absence (e.g. sick leave) it is not worth clicking each day separately. Instead:
- Go to the worker’s work shift management.
- Click Add absences. In the dialog, pick the Absence type and the Date range. Leave Only add on working days ticked to skip weekends and public holidays within the range.
- If the range overlaps tasks already in the calendar, the dialog lists every one of them and the button reads Next. Click it, and you can then cancel specific tasks directly (those will not return to the task list). If nothing overlaps, there is no list and the button reads Confirm straight away.
- Click Confirm — the absence is created and the tasks become reschedulable.
The same dialog removes absences: opened in remove mode it is titled Remove absences, lists the absences in the range to tick, and confirms with Delete.
If the worker returns earlier
Section titled “If the worker returns earlier”If the worker returns earlier than expected, the absence can be removed day by day in the calendar, or entirely in the worker’s work shift management.
