Work shifts
A worker’s work shifts define when Allocator may give them work. In work shift management you define the regular shifts, manage absences, and add exception shifts.
Where to find work shifts
Section titled “Where to find work shifts”You can reach a worker’s work shifts by clicking the worker’s name in the calendar, or from the worker’s details on the Work shifts tab.

Section titled “Adding or editing a work shift”A new work shift is added with the Add work shift button, or alternatively with the Edit work shift button if a shift already exists:
- Validity period — set Valid from (mandatory). Leave Valid until empty if the shift is valid until further notice.
- Select the days and times — choose the weekdays the worker works on, and give a start and end time for each day.
- If every workday is the same length, you can use Use same times for every day and enter the times once.
- Restore default times resets the fields to the organization’s default times.
- Save.
Note: Allocator does not give work to a worker on days with no working hours. Set the work shifts up properly before the first scheduling run.
